Economic Ramifications of Using Oils

There are many factors in developing a successful massage practice, one of which is to provide current, up to date techniques that are delivered in a professional manner. One current technique concerns the use of quality, non-commercial grade aromatherapy or essential oils. If a massage therapist has thoroughly studied essential oils and can share some of this knowledge with his or her client, and demonstrate to the client the proper application of the essential oils, the client will most likely be eternally grateful. This gratefulness will hopefully be demonstrated by the client returning to you for not only his or her massage, but to be able to buy quality essential oils for use during the period of time that he or she is unable to be massaged. As there are essential oils for every part of the body, from head to toe, there are number of oils that can be sold for different applications. Because of their overlapping properties, one oil can be substituted for another, to be used after the essential oil holiday. This provides an additional source of income over and above the fee earned for the massage. When a person factors in the referrals from his or her clients for essential oils only, this could be a great way to increase one's client base.

The economic ramifications to the client who uses quality, non-commercial grade essential oils can also be great. If a person suffers from a muscular related disability, or headache or other malady which would otherwise prevent that person from working to his or her optimum capacity, essential oils may help to alleviate some of those problems. The result is less down time and more productivity which should equal larger revenues.

The employer who uses aromatherapy or essential oils in the work place may also benefit, as the employer will be giving a little known "perk" which should endear the employees to the company. As indicated by the study done at the Touch Research Institute, because exposure to certain essential oils causes less depression and increased productivity, it is a win-win situation for everyone.
